My Fairy Tales Are Now At AllRomanceEBooks
I was recently a guest on Madeleine Shade's fairy tale blog. She's covering my two erotic fairy tales - "Trouble In Thigh High Boots" (erotic Puss In Boots) and "Climbing Her Tower" (erotic Rapunzel). Don't forget those two books are now available at AllRomanceEBooks.
http://shadyladyfairytales.com/2015/02/13/fairy-tale-friday-two-tales-of-seduction-by-elizabeth-black/
I'm working on some new erotic fairy tales I plan to self-publish as a collection. Stories that will appear in the book are based on Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, The Pied Piper, The Little Mermaid, and more! Expect the book mid-year, and keep an eye here and on my Facebook page for updates.

Erotic Fairy Tales
I'm putting together a book of erotic fairy tales. I've already written several, including erotic retellings of the usual suspects like Red Riding Hood, The Pied Piper, and Cinderella. I'm often asked to tackle specific ones, and popular suggestions are The Three Pigs and Beauty and the Beast.
I grew up with Disney's versions of classic fairy tales, but I have also read many of them, and I'm very much aware of how dark and sinister most fairy tales are. I prefer the stories in their original forms. Snow White was not only felled by a poisoned apple. The wicked queen began her assault with a poisoned comb and then a too-tight corset. The wicked queen also did not die in a fall off a cliff per the Disney version. Granted, Disney's version was pretty grim (pardon the pun), but in the original tale she was tortured by being forced to dance in red-hot iron shoes until she keeled over dead.
A friend of mine had taken her daughter to see "The Little Mermaid" and she wanted to buy the book of fairy tales so her daughter could read her favorite one. I warned her The Little Mermaid does not get the prince in the end. I also told her about how when The Little Mermaid walked she felt as if her feet were being cut by sharp knives. Each step was excruciatingly painful. Neither fact was in the Disney version.
Fairy tales are chock full of symbolism that lends itself easily to an erotic retelling. Many of these tales are about protecting the innocence of girlhood. Others were about sexual awakening. Cinderella is one of the latter. Cinderella's glass slippers and feet were small, hinting at her virginity and her intact hymen. Rapunzel is clearly about a girl reaching womanhood, especially since she becomes pregnant in the original tale. The tale dances around her pregnancy, though. The witch, unaware of the prince's visits, asks why her dress has become so tight. Then later, Rapunzel is shown with two children. She had sex with the prince! Oh, horrors! LOL Red Rdiing Hood was originally ravished by the wolf. In French slang, a girl who loses her virginity is referred to as "elle avoit vû le loup" – she had seen the wolf. The connotation is clear.
While it's easy to eroticize fairy tales, it's also easy to fall into stereotypical traps. Cinderella's prince has a foot fetish. Snow White has a ménage with seven men. Red Riding Hood is accosted by a rake. Rapunzel's pubic hair grows out. It can be a bit tough to take these tales in a non-stereotypical direction.
In addition to the more common fairy tales, one friend suggested I eroticize The Dancing Princesses, which is one I don't hear very much about. That got me to thinking about obscure fairy tales. Why not tackle one or two of those?
My favorite fairy tale is very obscure. It's Scandinavian, and it's entitled "The Enchanted Wreath". This one is about preserving girlish purity in my opinion. Have you ever noticed it's always the youngest and most innocent of the daughters who attracts the magic? Here's the synopsis: (from Wikipedia)
A man had a wife, and both of them had a daughter from an earlier marriage. One day, the man took his daughter to cut wood and found when he returned that he had left his ax. He told his wife to send her daughter for it, so it would not grow rusty. The stepmother said that his daughter was already wet and, besides, was a strong girl who could take a little wet and cold.
The girl found three doves perched on the axe, looking miserable. She told them to fly back home, where it would be warmer, but first gave them crumbs from her bread. She took the axe and left. Eating the crumbs made the birds feel much better, and they gave her an unfading wreath of roses, with tiny birds singing in it. The stepmother pulled it off, and the birds flew off and the roses withered.
The next day, the father went alone and left his axe again. The stepmother was delighted and sent her own daughter. She found the doves and ordered them off as "dirty creatures." They cursed her to never be able to say anything except "dirty creatures."
The stepmother beat her stepdaughter, and was all the angrier when the doves restored the wreath to its condition and the girl's head. One day, a king's son saw her and took her off to marry her. The news of them made the stepmother and her daughter quite ill, but they recovered when the stepmother made a plan. She had a witch make a mask of her stepdaughter's face. Then she visited her, threw her into the water, and put her daughter in her place, before setting out to see if the same witch could give her something to cure the doves' curse on her daughter.
Her husband was distraught by the change in her, but thought it stemmed an illness. He thought he saw his bride in the water, but she vanished. After twice more seeing her, he was able to catch her. She turned into various animals, a hare, a fish, a bird, and a snake, but he cut off the snake's head, and the bride became a human again.
The stepmother returned with an ointment that would work only if the true bride had really been drowned; she put it on her daughter's tongue and found it did not work. The prince found them and said they deserved to die, but the stepdaughter had persuaded him to merely abandon them on a desert island.
Another obscure fairy tale that made my radar is Hans Christian Anderson's "The Shadow". This one could be turned into a tale of dark and light mistaken identity. Here's the synopsis (from Wikipedia):
Once a learned man from the northern regions of Europe went on a voyage south. One night, he sat on his terrace, while the fire behind him cast his shadow on the opposite balcony. As he was sitting there, resting, the man was amused to observe how the shadow followed his every movement, as if he really did sit upon the opposing balcony. When he finally grew tired and went to sleep, he imagined the shadow would likewise retire in the house across the street. The next morning however, the man found to his surprise that he in fact had lost his shadow overnight. As a new shadow slowly grew back from the tip of his toes, the man did not give the incident another thought, returned to northern Europe, and took up writing again. Several years passed by until one night there was a knock at his door. To his surprise, it was his shadow, the one he lost years before in Africa, and now stood upon his doorstep, almost completely human in appearance. Astonished by his sudden reappearance, the learned man invited him into his house, and soon the two sat by the fireplace, as the shadow related how he had come to be man.
The learned man was calm and gentle by nature. His main object of interest lay with the good, the beautiful and the true, a subject of which he wrote often but was of no interest to anyone else. The shadow said his master did not understand the world, that he had seen it as truly was, and how evil some men really were.
The shadow then grew richer and fatter over the years, while the writer grew poorer and paler. Finally he had become so ill that his former shadow proposed a trip to a health resort offering to foot the bill as well, but on condition that he could act as the master now, and the writer would pretend to be his shadow. As absurd as this suggestion sounded, the learned man eventually agreed and together they took the trip, the shadow now as his master. At the resort, the shadow met with a beautiful princess, and as they danced and talked with each other each night, the princess fell in love with him.
When they were about to be married, the shadow offered his former master a luxurious position at the palace, on condition that he now became his own shadow permanently. The writer immediately refused and threatened to tell the princess everything, but the shadow had him arrested. Feigning his distraught, the shadow met with the princess and told her:
"I have gone through the most terrible affair that could possibly happen; only imagine, my shadow has gone mad; I suppose such a poor, shallow brain, could not bear much; he fancies that he has become a real man, and that I am his shadow."
"How very terrible,” cried the princess; "is he locked up?"
"Oh yes, certainly; for I fear he will never recover."
"Poor shadow!" said the princess; "it is very unfortunate for him; it would really be a good deed to free him from his frail existence; and, indeed, when I think how often people take the part of the lower class against the higher, in these days, it would be policy to put him out of the way quietly."
When the shadow wed the princess later that night, the learned man was already executed.
Here's another unusual one I'd heard of from years ago. It borders on bestiality. It's called "The She-Bear", and here's the synopsis:
After his wife dies, a King decides that the only woman in the world who matches his dead wife’s beauty is his own daughter Preziosa – therefore, Preziosa must now marry her deranged father. He tells her that if she will not marry him that very evening then ‘’when I am finished with you there will be nothing left but your ears’’.
An old woman then gives the terrified girl an enchanted bit of wood that will turn her into a bear when she puts it in her mouth. Preziosa – now a bear—flees into the forest and resolves never again to reveal her true form lest her father learns of her whereabouts. A prince discovers the wonderfully friendly she-bear in the woods and takes her home to be his pet.
One day when she believes she is alone, Preziosa takes the bit of wood out of her mouth to brush her hair. The prince looks out his window, spies a gorgeous maiden in his garden and rushes out to find her, but she hears him coming and quickly puts the wood back into her mouth. The prince searches throughout the garden but he cannot find the maiden anywhere—in her place is only his pet she-bear.
The prince becomes sick with lust for the bear-girl and begins to waste away. On request from her son, the prince’s mother sends for the she-bear who is now to reside in the princes bedroom, cook his meals and make his bed for him. The prince becomes overcome with lust for the bear, and begs his mother to let him kiss the animal.
While the mother watches and encourages them enthusiastically, man and bear lock lips. They are kissing so passionately that the bit of wood slips from Preziosa’s mouth and the prince finds that he now holds a stunningly beautiful maiden in his arms. Rejoicing, they get married, and presumably everybody lives happily ever after.
I may tackle these for my upcoming new fairy tale anthology. There are others, too, many of them Asian, that interest me. Look for my new book "Wicked Fairy Tales" coming out in the fall.
You may find information about my two current fairy tales at the top of this page. They are "Trouble In Thigh High Boots" (erotic Puss In Boots) and "Climbing Her Tower" (erotic Rapunzel). You may find information about my short story "Purr" (shorter erotic Puss In Boots) under the "Short Stories" tab.

Tuesday Tales - WIP Excerpt: "The Little Mermaid"
Below is an excerpt from my WIP, an erotic retelling of "The Little Mermaid". I love writing erotic versions of fairy tales. See my other two linked at the top of this page. "The Little Mermaid" is perfect for this week's Tuesday Tales prompt, which is "silent". The Little Mermaid has lost her voice and can neither sing nor speak. This scene takes place when the princess, to whom the Little Mermaid's prince is engaged, discovers the mermaid in human form and drags her to her bedroom. She ties her to the bedposts. At that point, the prince storms in and demands to know what the princess is doing.
-----
-----
"What are you
doing, Mizu? Leave her alone."
"So this is
what you want in my place? You can't do better?" She pulled my
hair, and I opened my mouth in silent agony. My eyes pleaded with my prince to
set me free, but he only glared at his future bride. "There's barely any
meat on her bones." She tied my other wrist to the opposite bed post, and
then restrained my feet to the lower posts. My heart raced in dread like a bird
fluttering in a gilded cage. "You like to watch. Well, watch this."
I lay spread-eagle
on my stomach, resisting the pull of the restraints. As I struggled, pain more
intense than the pain in my legs slammed into my bum. I turned my head to see
the princess brandishing a flogger whip! She reared up and struck me again,
hard, on my right bum cheek. The sting stabbed through my muscle to my core,
where I felt the most thrilling heat. The slightest struggle set my legs afire,
but I wanted more! My body stiffened in both pain and pleasure as I buried my
face in a pillow and moaned silently in arousal. What was happening to me? I
didn't expect to like pain!
"You've found
on odd one. Does she enjoy my wrath?" The princess brought that whip down
once more on my buttocks and the sensuous tightness deep within me uncoiled,
leaving me thrashing upon the bed in the throes of ecstasy I had never before
felt. Why had I not felt such exquisite pleasure when my prince first took me? I
arched my back, aiming my bum high in the air. I curled my toes in response to
the sweet torture she gave me, for she captured my attention like no other had
ever done before.
She tossed aside
the whip and spanked me hard with one slender hand. The power and passion
behind that slap intensified my arousal and interest in this fine woman. Her
anger heated my skin. Oh, to feel her body against mine! What was happening to
me? I came to the surface to seduce my true love, and here I was falling under
the spell of a lovely but enraged young woman. Her rage fueled my desire. The
louder her voice grew, the more I wanted her to punish me.
Big hands gripped
my feet. Jolts of pain shot through my soles into my fledgling calves. I
groaned in silence, and although I made no sound, they understood my desire. His
thumbs kneaded my arches, eliciting stabbing pain so severe tears poured from my eyes. I nearly fainted from
pain but each jolt of agony slammed into my core, causing an eruption of
pleasure the likes of which I had never before felt. He took a braided jumble
of nails from a bedstand and scratched it against the bottoms of my feet. I
twisted my body in delight as intense pain coursed through my legs. My body thrashed in a paroxysm of intense pleasure,
one wave after another, as he jabbed those nails into my feet so hard I felt
skin break.
"She likes
foot torture. You've found quite a treasure, my love," she said.
"Let's share her."

Hot Autumn Nights Blog Hop - Welcome!
For those here for the Romance Reviews Year End Bash, please go to the "Climbing Her Tower" tab at the top of this web site. You'll find your contest answer there. The winner gets a copy of the book. Good luck!
----------
Ah, Fall. I love this time of year. It's probably my favorite. Halloween is my favorite holiday, and that one has already passed. Christmas is right around the corner. I love the colors, the scents of apple and maple, and the chilly weather. I live on the northeastern Massachusetts coast so this area looks like a Currier and Ives painting in the fall and especially winter. What I love best about fall is baking. I've already made pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, banana nut bread, ginger snaps, pinwheel cookies, Italian anise cookies, and sugar cookies. I'd like to tackle a gingerbread house but knowing my talent it'll end up looking more like a gingerbread tenement. LOL
Today I'm making mulled hot cider. I have the spices handy. We bought the apple cider yesterday. After that's gone, I make hot buttered rum. Yum! My husband has a recipe for homemade Bailey's Irish cream he always makes this time of year. It goes fast, obviously.
My idea of a Hot Autumn Night is to be cuddled snugly in my bed with a good book, some hot cider or hot buttered rum (or hot cocoa with mini marshmallows on top) by my side, and surrounded by my cats. My husband may interrupt me if he wishes. I won't complain. ;)
I love to read and write this time of year. I'm currently reading "The Hotel New Hampshire", which is set not far from my home. I didn't do NaNoWriMo this year, but I am working on a mystery/thriller I'd like to have completely edited by early 2013. I've written two erotic fairy tales so far this fall. Both were published in early October. They are "Trouble In Thigh High Boots" (erotic Puss In Boots) and "Climbing Her Tower" (erotic Rapunzel). These two are very erotic and sexually explicit books. Would you like to win one of them? All you need to do is leave a comment telling me what is your idea of a Hot Autumn Night. Please leave your email address so I may find you. The lucky winner gets one of those two books.
Here are blurbs and buy links for both books in case you're too impatient to wait. Enjoy your reading and enjoy the Fall!

Fairy Tales Are All The Rage!
Fairy tales are very hot right now. The American television
shows "Once Upon A Time" and "Grimm" are big hits.
"Beauty and the Beast" is the latest fairy tale to grace the small
screen. For kicks, I write fan fiction based on "Once Upon A Time".
If you'd like to read it, here's my profile with links to the free stories: http://www.fanfiction.net/~rainshowers
I have started a series of erotic retellings of fairy tales.
My very first fiction ever published was an erotic retelling of Cinderella. It
was entitled "Happily Ever After" and it was about Cinderella's
miserable life after the fancy wedding. Suffice to say her fairy tale dreams
didn't come true, and she attracted the attention of a magical sex coach to set
her on the right path. This coach was no frumpy fairy godmother! I plan to
rework that story and self-publish it as a stand-alone. I also wrote a short
story entitled "Fountain Of Youth" based on a Japanese fairy tale by
the same name. And finally, I wrote "Purr", a short erotic retelling
of Puss In Boots. This story covers only a portion of the fairy tale - the
business with the ogre. That story is my most popular to date, more proof that
fairy tales are a hot ticket at the moment.
Puss In Boots has always been one of my favorite fairy tales
because I love cats. I wanted one when I was a kid but was never allowed to
have one. The closest I came to having a cat were my hamsters and my salmonella
turtle. Not exactly the cuddliest of creatures. "Purr" is more of an
exercise in creating a cat-based character and "Trouble In Thigh High
Boots" explores a similar character and her life in much more depth.
Cats are fascinating. After all, as Terry Pratchett aptly
observed, cats were once revered as gods and they never forgot that fact. Cats
have a sauntering walk and a spring in their step. Most of them are graceful
although I've known a few clumsy cats. They had four left paws. They can be
vicious killers one second and delightful purr boxes the next. The nature of
cats and my own observations of their behavior influenced my characters Muca
(from "Purr") and Tita (from "Trouble In Thigh High Boots").
These two shapeshifting women are alluring, sexy, and cunning. They shift from
cat to woman and back again when the situation demands it. They are independent
and don't take kindly to being tied down. They don't like water. They are
confident. They suffer neither fools nor threats. I've always wanted to take
the most fascinating qualities of a cat and transform them into a shapeshifting
character. Hence, "Purr" and "Trouble In Thigh High
Boots". Both the short story and
the novella are great reads. I hope you enjoy them.

Excerpt:
Her stiletto
heels clicked on the hardwood floor, attracting the king's attention. When he
turned toward her, her heart nearly stopped at the unabashed thrilled look on
his face when he set eyes on her. She sniffed the air and smelled castile soap
and fragrant oil of rosemary. If I didn't know better, I'd think he expected
me. Maybe his knights told him I was on my way.
"Ah,
cat, you have returned! How delightful!" The king's jolly laugh boomed
around the high-ceilinged room. "My sister told me she saw you on the
road. Your rabbits were absolutely delicious. I saved a morsel in case you
returned."
She smiled
and batted her lashes at him. Stop it! You're acting like a peckish school
girl with a bad crush! "You are too kind, Your Highness. Before I
accept your gracious offer of food, might I offer you another present from the
Marquis of Carabas?"
"Another
present? Your Marquis is quite impressive. First, the fattest rabbits I've seen
in these parts in a long time, and now more gifts! Yes, please, do show me what
you have to offer."
Oh, I'll
show you much more than you expect, sire. She lifted her knapsack and prepared to open it, but hesitated. The
king looked dejected.
"What's
wrong?"
"I want
this gift to be a special surprise for you, sire, but I can't have you looking
at me when I give it to you."
"Well,
what shall we do then?"
"I had
an idea." She opened the knapsack a tiny bit, reached inside, and pulled
out a silk blindfold. "How about we play a game?"
He clapped
his hands. "I love games! Cat, you are quite the adventuress!"
Little do
you know… "I do my
best, Your Highness." She held the blindfold between her claws. "May
I approach you and slip this over your eyes, sire?"
"Of
course you may."
"You
trust me?"
"Why
shouldn't I?"
"How do
you know I won't shield your eyes and then slit your throat?"
"Because
there's something special about you, cat. I can't put my finger on it, but you
are very intriguing. I'm willing to trust you with my life."
Her heart
melted at his words, and she took great pride in feeling his affection even
though he had not yet seen her in her human form. What would he think of her
once he saw her long legs, full breasts, and thick tawny hair? Would he ravish
her when he felt the warmth from her heart and tasted the sweetness of her
breath? How would he react to the tenderness she longed to give him?
When would he
remember her, if he remembered her at all? She had never spoken to him or
shifted in front of him when she lived in the castle. Her heart ached with love
and memories of his tender caresses and playful roughhousing. If only he
recalled her!
She walked to
him as he sat in his favorite chair, and then she leapt onto his lap. He ran
his fingers through her long fur without thinking twice about it, as many
humans did when accosted by a cat, although certainly not most. She had met her
share of men and women who beat her and threw pans of water at her. Zane's face
flashed into her mind. When would she see him again? Tita knew he would make
another appearance soon, aware of his cruelty and greed. She shook her head and
quickly shoved his memory away. She would not allow him room in her head to
ruin her time with the king.
Thankfully,
her king was not cruel. She purred with pleasure as he scratched her behind her
ears. Ooooh, he found my most sensitive sweet spot! I can't stand it! Let me
at him! In a fit of arousal, she rubbed her mouth against his hand, leaving
her scent on his skin.
She stared
into his deep blue eyes and paused before lifting her blindfold. I wonder if
he can see into my soul when he gazes into my eyes. One look will show him a
world he's never before seen. She gazed at him, wishing he could read her
mind, to sense the love she felt for him.
"You
have lovely eyes, cat. The color of a deep sea – quiet on the surface, but I
suspect there is quite a bit of turmoil in those depths." He ran one hand
over her back, stroking her length until she arched in response. "Your
eyes are very human. Long-lashed and expressive. Are you enchanted?"
"In a
way, sire, yes I am. But I'm not cursed. I can give you what you need."
"And
what might that be?"
"Let me
show you." She slipped the blindfold over his eyes and waited for him to
sit back and relax. When his breathing eased, she curled into his lap, placing
both paws on his shoulders. "Don't be afraid. And whatever you do, don't
remove the blindfold. I'm about to give you my surprise."
As her body
lengthened and stretched, she stroked his hair. Paws elongated into palms and
fingers and she scratched his scalp with her long nails. He moaned and curled
his head into her embrace, but as her furry body grew into curvy feminine form,
he backed away with a gasp of alarm.
"Please
don't be afraid," she whispered in a deep, mellow voice that sang in his
ear. "I won't hurt you." She guided his hands from his sides to her
bare hips. "Touch me. Feel me."
